Advocacy Efforts
M.H.A.J.C. has an advocate on staff to assist individuals with mental health issues in obtaining housing, receiving benefit advisement, obtaining employment and education.  The Advocate will meet with case managers and service coordinators and assist the individuals in reaching goals and positive outcomes.

In addition, M.H.A.J.C. has a Self-Advocacy Council that teaches people how to advocate for themselves and also how to be a systems advocate.  Members attend various legislative functions, advocate for community and statewide change and help people register to vote.

Self Advocacy is a great part of personal recovery and systems advocacy empowers people to be better advocates for themselves.
