Gifts of Love

Please support the Gifts of Love Program!
Each year the Mental Health Association in Jefferson County, Inc. provides gifts to over 700 adults and children with mental illness. Gifts are given to individuals living in family care homes, community residences, supervised apartments and with family members. The program also gives gifts to those hospitalized at St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center in Ogdensburg and in inpatient mental health at Samaritan medical.
Many adults and children with mental illness depend on the Gifts of Love Program. Often, families dealing with mental illness do not seek help through traditional programs. The gifts you provide to the MHA for the Gifts of Love Program may be the only gifts some people receive during this holiday season.
Last year, we did not have enough gifts to meet the needs. We are asking for your support.
Please drop off your new, unwrapped gifts at the Mental Health Association, 724 State Street, Watertown, NY, no later than November 30, 2010. Please contact the MHA for wish lists to participate or for assistance purchasing. Wish lists will be available on our website at MHAJC.org – just click on the Gifts of Love link. This way you can keep track of what we need and what we have received!
Cash donations are welcome too. Your tax deductible cash, check or money order can be made to the Mental Health Association. Write “GOL” in the memo. You can even specify what gifts you would like purchased or for whom you wish to buy gifts.
New this year, the MHA is also hosting the Linda Mattingly Holiday Giving Fund. Founder, Ron Goodnough will be providing a $250.00 Christmas Shopping Spree for one (1) deserving Invisible Children’s Program family. This fund is in memory of Ron’s sister, Linda, who would annually supply a deserving family with this Christmas shopping spree.
Since 1960, the MHA has been collecting and disseminating gifts for people with mental health diagnoses. Please help continue this 40 year tradition by supporting Gifts of Love and the Linda Mattingly Holiday Giving Fund!!!
